ZUMBA®

Pre-School

Designed for 3&4 year olds.  It consists of 30 minutes of Ballet & 30 minutes of Tap with some Acro. Students will be taught basic dance movements that will help with motor skills and prepare them for proper body alignment.

African

This is a fun and exciting form of dance that focuses on the contracting and releasing of the torso.  Set to a traditional African beat it is one of the more aerobic styles of dance.

 

Combo 1

Designed for 4&5 year olds. It consists of 30 minutes of Ballet & 30 minutes of Tap with some Acro.  Students will learn basic movements and begin to focus on dance vocabulary

Combo 2

Designed for 5&6 year olds. 30 minutes of Ballet & 30 minutes of Tap. (No Acro) It focuses on dance vocabulary. Students will begin to master movement skills.

Musical Theater

Musical Theater brings Broadway to class by combining dramatic acting with dance.  Learn to dance, act, and lip sync to your favorite Broadway hits.

Hip Hop

Hip Hop is a dance form that is set to Hip Hop music and consists of street movements.  It is said to have no technique but is instead a free style form of dance.

 

Lyrical

Lyrical is a form of dance set to contemporary music.  This form fuses Ballet and Jazz techniques. Movements are usually done in a flowing or continuous pattern.

 

Pointe

This is a form of Ballet that incorporates the use of a special shoe.  This class is only offered to those students who have had at least five years of intense Ballet training.  Students must be at least 13 and have a note from their pediatrician.

Tap

Students will use their feet to communicate.  Tap is a dance form in which rhythm is demonstrated by sounds from the heel, ball and toes of the foot.  Students will learn how to create these sounds by connecting movements to build rhythmic patterns.

Modern

This a form of dance that rejects the limitations of classical Ballet and favors movement derived from a much more grounded place.  Modern dance incorporates both turned out and parallel body placement.  Its purpose is to demonstrate the gravity DOES exist.

Jazz

Jazz is a stylized form of dance that is usually set to theatrical music.  It incorporates leaping and turning sequences executed with seamless transitional movement.

 

Ballroom

Whether you're getting married or just want to discover a new way to enjoy an evening out with your partner we offer private Ballroom lessons.  These focused one-on-one lessons are taught at our facility by leading professionals.  Please call to make arrangements.

Ballet (Vaganova Method)

Ballet is conventional form of dance, usually set to classical music.  It is taught in a turned out body position.  Ballet will assist students with proper body alignment and improve posture and technique. Ballet lays the foundation for all forms of dance and is essential to mastering proper dance technique.  Ballet attempts to prove that gravity does NOT exist.

Leaps & Turns

This class focuses on flexibility while strengthening students.  This class will assist with and reinforce movements being taught in other styles.  Students will learn proper placement for leaping and turning.

*Mandatory for ALL Jr./Sr. Company.*

This class does not perform In the recital

 

*STUDENTS WILL BE PLACED AT THE APPROPRIATE LEVEL BASED ON PREVIOUS TRAING AND ABILITY AT THE TEACHERS DISCRETION*
